The PulsePoll has made Internet
polling history.
For the first time, in the presidential
primaries, a poll of web users has tracked with both election
results and traditional phone surveys. The votes are in and
the web based PulsePoll accurately projected the election
results in the New Hampshire, Arizona, Washington and Colorado
presidential primaries.
The PulsePoll primary was the first
web presidential poll hosted simultaneously on a network of
daily and weekly newspapers, radio stations and community
group web sites. In each of the participating states, the
newspaper press association co-sponsored the PulsePoll primary.

In
early February in the New Hampshire primary, the PulsePoll
Internet-based poll was within 1 percent of the election results
for Bauer, within 2 percent for Bush, within 2 percent for
Forbes, within 4 percent for Bradley and within 4 percent
for Gore. The PulsePoll accurately tracked McCain's surge
in the last couple of days before the primary election.

In
mid-February in the Arizona Republican primary, the PulsePoll
Internet-based poll was within 3 percent of the primary election
results for McCain and was also within 3 percent for Bush.

In
the Washington presidential primary on February 29th, the
Internet-based PulsePoll tracked exactly with the total percentage
of those who voted for McCain, was within 2.99 percent for
Bush, 1.22 percent for Keyes, 1 percent for Bradley and within
6.26 percent for Gore.

On March 10th in Colorado, the Internet-based PulsePoll exactly
projected the vote for Bradley and was within one percent
for Gore and Keyes, within 2 percent for McCain and projected
the upward movement for Bush.
