Overview:
Participating New Hampshire Web sites will concurrently run
an online Presidential preference poll in conjunction with
a 400 random sample phone survey to be conducted by Pulse
Research of Portland, Oregon.
Dates:
The PulsePoll Primary will launch at 9 a.m. EST on Monday
January 17th and close at 9am EST on Monday January 24th,
2000.
PulsePoll
Primary Web Poll :
The PulsePoll Primary will run on the homepage or special
section of each Web site. Votes in the poll will be calculated
and displayed on a results page comparing the results of the
participating Web sites to state wide results.
Market research
survey:
Pulse Research, a respected national research firm in Portland,
Oregon will conduct a concurrent 400 random sample phone survey
in New Hampshire the week of Monday January 17th. Respondents
will be 18 years or older with plans to vote in the February
1st primary. In addition to the presidential preference question,
web use, age and gender will also be surveyed. Statewide statistical
results will be delineated by web users and non-web users.
Community
Focus:
All media and community organizations with web sites in New
Hampshire have been invited to participate in the PulsePoll
Primary. There is no charge to the newspaper for participation.
Newspaper
benefits:
Each participating newspaper will be provided with the results
of the web poll and market research results for publication
in their newspaper.
Participating
newspapers will agree to:
(1) Host the poll on their homepage during the period specified
(2) Promote the poll in their paper with a minimum 1x4 ad
in each issue the week before and during the poll.
(3) Publish the results of the web poll and market research
in their paper the week of Monday January 17th
(4) Run a pre-launch common PulsePoll the week of January
3rd.
Deadline
to participate:
The deadline for committing to participation is the week of
January 10th.
